Figure: Measuring ethanol content in Red
Beaujolais Wine using our Ethanol Assay kit.
The Ethanol Assay Solution is mixed with 50 ul
of 200-fold diluted Red Wine, and the mixture is
incubated for 30 min. O.D.492 nm is measured,
and ethanol concentration is deduced from an
ethanol standard plot. The assay shows that the
Red Wine contains ~13% alcohol.

Newly improved ethanol assay
Popular lactate assay
Figure: Measuring L-lactate levels in culture media. HEK293
cells constitutively expressing bcl-2 show altered glucose
metabolism. Culture media are diluted 10 fold and mixed with
the Lactate Assay Solution. L-lactate concentrations are
deduced from a lactate standard plot. The assay reveals that
lactate production by the Bcl-2 expressor is reduced
compared to the parental HEK293 cells.
Figure: Rapid purification of plasmid DNA for DNA
sequencing and molecular cloning. Plasmid DNA is
isolated using our simple and inexpensive Plasmid
DNA Purification kit. Each sequencing run can
generate up to ~1kb sequence information.
Streamlined plasmid DNA purification
One-step enzyme measurements
Figure: Measuring the activities of alkaline
phosphatase (Alk) and beta-galactosidase
(Gal) in crude cell extracts. Early and late
passage bone marrow mesenchymal stem
cells are solubilized in a lysis buffer, and
cell lysates are mixed with Alk and Gal
assay solutions. The assays demonstrate
differential changes in enzyme activities
during stem cell senescence in culture.
