Total RNA Isolation Kit Price
Product Description: This kit offers a fast and inexpensive method for the isolation of total RNA from eukaryotic cells and bacteria using
guanidinium thiocyanate and acid phenol/chloroform (Anal Biochem 162;156-159,1987 & Nature Protocol 1;581-585,2006). Under acidic
conditions (~pH 5), DNA partitions into the organic phase while RNA remains in the aqueous phase. Total RNA is separated from proteins
(trapped in interphase) and DNA (trapped in organic phase) during extraction. RNA is recovered from the upper aqueous phase, precipitated with
isopropanol, and washed with 70% ethanol. RES needs to be freshly supplemented with 2-Mercaptoethanol (not provided) for inhibition of
RNase. Shearing of chromosomal DNA by thorough pipetting is essential for complete removal of DNA. The kit is stable for at least one year if
stored and handled properly. The product is for research use only.
